Kärdla Airport (EEKA)

Nice aerodrome with an IFR approach. Very quiet. Everything is easy and straightforward. During hours when the aerodrome is closed, a security guard opens the doors. A 10-minute walk from the terminal there is a small, simple but good restaurant right on the sea. Popular with local pilots for a $100 pizza.
Olsztyn Mazury Airport (EPSY)
by Timo • 2026-07-22 13:32:57 UTC
Also needed a fuel stop. Large airfield, very quiet.
Refueling at the pump with a BP card is possible.
Refueling, including paying all fees, in under 30 minutes. Landing fee approx. 30 EUR.
CAUTION: The region to the north is affected by continuous, severe GPS jamming. Our 2 h IFR flight inbound from Tallinn had about 70 minutes with no GPS reception at all (not a single satellite). Be prepared.
Warszawa/Modlin Airport (EPMO)
by Timo • 2026-07-22 13:29:20 UTC
Large airport primarily for scheduled traffic. Handling appears to be mandatory, though I couldn't find it anywhere in the published documents. We arrived without an appointment. Handling (Welcome Handling) was offered spontaneously by the Tower. Taxi transfer to and from the aircraft and security screening were very fast. Handling cost (crew of 4 in a PA46) about 30 EUR. A NOTAM had already stated that no AVGAS would be available during our stay, so we had to make an intermediate fuel stop.
Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport (EETN)
by Timo • 2026-07-22 13:24:40 UTC
We were there about 10 years ago. Large airport and already very expensive back then. I wanted to go there this summer. Handling is mandatory. The quote for 2 Crew and 2 Pax comes to over 1'000.- Euro. Pax are charged 150 per leg (out/in) each. We could possibly have registered everyone as Crew, but the 'risk' wasn't worth it to me. Following the quote I contacted AOPA Estland. They were not aware of this and have initiated talks. Whether and when that will achieve anything remains to be seen.
Rapla Airport (EERA)
by Timo • 2026-07-22 13:21:30 UTC
Affordable option for a visit to Tallinn. The shorter runway is intended for powered aircraft. We were there with a PA46; the runway is in good condition and reinforced with grids in the grass. Very friendly people at the airfield, and we were immediately given a ride into the city. Prior contact via Whatsapp was rather slow but friendly.
Pärnu Airport (EEPU)
by Timo • 2026-07-20 09:47:20 UTC
Excellent infrastructure. Very quick and friendly handling. Refueling and paying the landing fee in under 30 minutes.
Landing fee 53 EUR for a PA46 with an IFR approach.
AVGAS 3.11 EUR per liter, on the expensive side. But at least it's available.
Spilve Airport (EVRS)
by Timo • 2026-07-16 10:11:23 UTC
Great airfield for a Riga visit. PPR and payment via the website in advance. Study the approach procedures carefully. Nothing complicated; just brief beforehand. Runway in good condition, even though grass is growing through in places. However, the taxiways are quite bumpy. AVGAS at 2.40 Euro/Liter is very inexpensive, but cash only. Uber to the city approx. 20 Euro.
København/Roskilde Airport (EKRK)
by Timo • 2026-07-16 10:08:50 UTC
Great airfield for Copenhagen. About 45 minutes from downtown. The marshaller may even hand you a Copenhagen guide and a city map as a welcome gift. Everything is easy, straightforward, and friendly. AVGAS at the pump is very expensive though: 3.49 Euro / liter.
Lelystad Airport (EHLE)
by Timo • 2026-07-16 10:06:29 UTC
Absolutely great GA aerodrome. Unfortunately, no IFR traffic is possible on weekends. On site everyone is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Highly recommended for Amsterdam. The car rental info@autoverhuurlelystad.nl delivers the car directly to the aerodrome and picks it up there again. A surcharge of 35 EUR is perfectly fine. Landing and 5 days' parking for a PA46 were 150 EUR. Very fair.
Visby Airport (ESSV)
by Timo • 2026-07-16 10:03:44 UTC
Great airfield. My PPR request (landing outside opening hours) was answered promptly. IFR arrival and departure were trouble-free, and the controllers were very supportive. Otherwise, everything as previously mentioned. Uber to "DownTown" about €30.
Tirana Airport (LATI)

PIREP from a fellow pilot:
Very modern aerodrome.
Arrival at the airport at 0900. Then, not entirely unexpectedly, it gets laborious: we were missing a piece of paperwork we had never received. Cue a lot of radio calls and a handling agent who, by her own account, was doing this procedure for the first time. It took a full hour before we finally reached the aircraft after ticket check, security screening, customs control, walkways and a VIP shuttle ride. Plenty of room for improvement, but GA aircraft are apparently very uncommon here. Still, the fee of 62.- is extremely fair.
Locarno Airport (LSZL)
by Timo • 2026-06-14 18:02:02 UTC
Great aerodrome. Lots of GA traffic and also military ops (training). The pizzeria has already been mentioned and is highly recommended. Public transport works reasonably well. Be aware of the aerodrome’s lunch break.
Augsburg Airport (EDMA)
by Timo • 2026-06-14 17:58:48 UTC
Still all very friendly and uncomplicated. Friendly staff from the office, through Tower, to Customs. Would gladly return.
Portoroz/Secovlje Airport (LJPZ)
by Timo • 2026-06-14 17:53:40 UTC
A great aerodrome for GA and a gateway for exiting the EU.
Current AVGAS price as of 12 June 2026: 2.615 Euro / liter
Tivat Airport (LYTV)
by Timo • 2026-06-14 17:50:41 UTC
Visited Tivat for two nights with a PA46-350P (MTOW 1,968 kg). Everything was fine overall. PPR via email was promptly answered/granted. Costs: 2 crew + 2 PAX, total EUR 208. Rather on the expensive side.
Venezia/Lido Airport (LIPV)
by Timo • 2026-06-09 07:14:23 UTC
Still a great field for visiting Venedig. Grass runway in good condition. Processes (refuelling, landing fees, etc.) are straightforward and quick. IFR leaving and joining work without issues, and the Tower is supportive. If you want to head into the city, a water taxi is the best option. The pier is 100 m from the terminal. You can order via WhatsApp: +39 320 429 2821. It costs 100 Euro each way. A little indulgence never hurts :-)
Grenchen Airport (LSZG)
by Timo • 2026-06-09 07:10:30 UTC
Great, straightforward aerodrome. Large on-field restaurant with hotel. Customs (including extra-Schengen) available via online form. Efficient procedures with friendly staff.
Perpignan Rivesaltes Airport (LFMP)
by Timo • 2026-04-14 08:11:56 UTC
The information is still correct.
PPR requests are processed very quickly.
GA parking North is relatively close to the terminal, where rental cars are available.
PA46 (1960 kg) landing fee 20 Euro
Parking 0.55 Euro per hour
Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport (LFKJ)
by Timo • 2026-04-08 16:50:16 UTC
Overall everything was fine. Landing fee and parking for 3 nights for an SEP: 90 Euro. So rather on the expensive side.
IFR arrival and departure were uneventful.
Update April 2026
Still all very straightforward. Price-wise we were at 180 Euro for an IFR approach (shortly before HR*), including lighting, parking for 5 nights and handling.
Rather annoying: one day before departure a NOTAM was published stating that no AVGAS was available. We had received a confirmed BP Fuel release days earlier, but that did not help, so we had to go to Figari (LFKF) to refuel.
Mannheim City Airport (EDFM)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 15:02:41 UTC
Very efficient processing at the C-Büro. From the aircraft to the C-Büro, strictly follow the marked route and do not cut across the apron. Several food options in the building or a short walk outside. Uber to the city for about 12 EUR. Must-visit: Friebe Shop about 100 m further on.
Friedrichshafen Airport (EDNY)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 14:58:24 UTC
Other than IFR training flights, traffic is very light. The terminal is mostly empty and the restaurants/food outlets are often closed even during the day. Aside from vending machines, food is often not available. Customs and C‑Office staff are very friendly.
Bourges Airport (LFLD)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 14:52:41 UTC
Straightforward aerodrome.
IFR approach only possible to RWY 06. Even when there is no traffic and RWY 24 is in use, no IFR approach was cleared (OK, skies were clear).
AVGAS by credit card only (no Total, BP or similar).
C-office was staffed by the fire brigade.
Observe the lunch break.
SEP PA46 MTOW 1968 kg, 1 ldg for 24 Euro
Samedan Airport (LSZS)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 14:42:42 UTC
Concur with the previous remarks. Additional info:
In the C‑Büro you can buy Bündner Nusstorten in various sizes. Very tasty and a great souvenir to take along.
There is also a good restaurant at the RWY 21 end, by the campground. A short walk, but definitely recommended.
Lugano Airport (LSZA)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 14:38:24 UTC
Good airfield. Note the lunch break.
ATTENTION: IFR procedures require a specific qualification. Basic qualification available via CBT.
https://www.lugano-qualification.ch
IFR minima are relatively high. If applicable, depart via SVFR and join later.
Friendly email contact at GA handling.
Bolzano Airport (LIPB)
by Timo • 2026-02-26 14:20:03 UTC
PPR obtained very quickly. Request for a hangar spot (one week in winter) was somehow overlooked. Study the IFR approach carefully; the descent is steep. From the grass parking to the terminal it’s a fairly long walk, especially with skis and baggage.
