Uncomplicated aerodrome with a slightly unusual approach, near the Manchester CTR. £20 landing fee for a C182.

Great airfield, straightforward approach and very friendly on the ground. 100LL fuel currently 2.01£/l. The Shuttleworth Collection is well worth a visit, and the 15£ landing fee kindly gives the pilot free entry to the Collection. Overnight stay at the adjacent House within walking distance is possible. The overnight stay also includes free entry to the museum and a discount at the local restaurant.

Calais Marck Airport (LFAC)

Visit with C182 yesterday. LPV approach in poor weather and short prior notice for customs make the aerodrome ideal for a stopover. Very inexpensive landing fee, 10€. Longer-term parking is rather expensive. AVGAS approx 2.70€

Linköping/Saab Airport (ESSL)

The aerodrome is PPR; easy via the club form (https://ppr.lfk.se/). We received approval within a few minutes, with information on local procedures also outside Tower hours. A further email inquiry about fuel went unanswered, but on site we met club members who were very helpful. Fuel 100LL currently 32 SEK/liter. On the hard-surface parking apron, tie-downs are available. Taxi to the quite worth-seeing city center approx 250 SEK.

Älmhult/Möckeln Airport (ESMU)

Not much has changed here. Spent 3 days visiting with a C182. After some recent rain, the field was a bit soft but still usable. Relatively high embankments at both runway ends and trees along the sides make for a somewhat unusual sight picture on final; otherwise no issues for pilots with grass-runway experience. Generally a very scenic area; we stayed at Sjöstugans Hotell / Camping Ground, bike and canoe rental is fun. Caution: the taxi service is indeed as bad as the Google reviews say - flat-out refused to pick us up.

St. Michaelisdonn Airport (EDXM)

Great little airfield for a visit to the North Sea. Landing fee for a C182 €14; per night €5. 100LL comparatively inexpensive at €2.79. The airfield has 3 electric cars for rent; ideally, these should be reserved in advance.

Absolutely positive experience for an IFR training flight from Switzerland on 14.11. Landing fees paid via Aerops; per approach/landing €6.4 for training, otherwise €12.80 for a C182. AVGAS €1.74 per liter. Attention: Customs notification must be submitted 24h in advance!

Shoreham Airport (EGKA)

We were there a week ago with a Piper Arrow, MTOW 1247kg. Little to add to the latest reports; arrival and departure and the ground handling were cooperative, expeditious, and problem-free. On the pricey side: landing GBP 33; per night GBP 16 for parking outside on the apron. AVGAS costs GBP 1.87 per liter.

La Rochelle Ile De Re Airport (LFBH)

Operationally very straightforward and relaxed. The city is also worth a visit as an excursion destination. Self-service AVGAS available with credit card. Normally you access the aerodrome via a coded gate. However, during our stay the gate was out of service, so we had to go through an excessively thorough security screening on both entry and exit. A restroom visit cost us another full 20 minutes (including removing shoes, etc.).

Augsburg Airport (EDMA)

We were there over the weekend VFR with a Mooney M20 from Switzerland. Handling at the aerodrome was expeditious and friendly. Landing fee (Noise Class B) approx €18; parking per day (partial days count) approx €7. Total €32.25. Public transport connection unfortunately poor on weekends; Mon–Fri it’s about a 1 km walk to a bus directly to the city center. Taxi back from the main station cost around €20. No food service on the field, except possibly at the gliding club.
