Visit in June 2025 with a P2002. Flew in on a VFR flight plan and requested a practice ILS in VMC. Complete freedom for routing and LOC intercept. No issue even with scheduled traffic present. 1 touch-and-go and 1 full-stop landing; handling €26.25. Staff friendly and competent; processing very quick.

We were there on July 10, 2021. AC11 for landing, 2 Crew + 2 Pax, 3 nights, total 100 Euro. Everything very friendly and efficient. No one was interested in COVID documents.

Rijeka (LDRI) is suitable for non-commercial general aviation, offering friendly and efficient service with uncomplicated procedures. PPR is required at least 3 hours in advance by email or phone. Operations are generally smooth, with flexible VFR and IFR handling; the ILS approach is procedural only, with no radar vectoring available. Out-of-hours opening is possible for a surcharge, typically about €60 per hour (minimum two hours). Example: opening outside published hours about €100.
Fees for aircraft up to 3 t MTOW are moderate for an international airport. Typical charges include landing about €20, handling about €20, parking about €20 per day, and credit card fees up to €10; all are subject to 25% VAT. Example: landing, two nights parking, and handling about €60–€70. For longer stays or additional services, total costs can reach about €100–€120. Passenger taxes may apply. Payment by credit card is accepted.
Avgas (100LL) is available from a fuel truck; prices fluctuate but service is prompt. Concrete tie-down blocks and ground anchors are present for securing aircraft. Staff proactively secure aircraft in strong winds and may move them to sheltered positions if needed.
Car rental desks (Sixt, Hertz, SurPrice) operate on site but advance reservation is recommended as offices may not always be staffed; experiences vary between providers. Taxis to Rijeka or Opatija cost around €50–€100 depending on destination; Krk town is closer and recommended for accommodation and leisure.
Approaches from the east can be turbulent due to the Bora wind system; crosswinds up to 12 kt are not uncommon on the 14/32 runway orientation. The runway lies in a shallow depression and may be hard to spot on downwind. During periods of airline traffic, GA operations may experience delays or more complex flows through the terminal.
Customs and immigration are available without advance notice during normal hours; procedures are efficient for intra- and extra-EU flights.
