Friendly on the radio, friendly at the C office. Well-maintained airfield with lots of parking. Fueling at Total rates. Schnitzel-Tower: if desired, best to reserve, as it is very popular in the region. Parking with tie-down rings in the ground. For MTOW 1400: €31 for landing plus 2 nights parking. Ground access mediocre. 4 km to Niemberg, then 10 min by DB to Halle. Or 13 km by taxi. No UBER available. Doable by bike or scooter, though.

The GA airfield in the Halle/Leipzig region. East German charm with a restaurant, flight schools, and maintenance on site. Easy approach, friendly people, and fair prices. Ground transport connections are mediocre, but Halle is not far by taxi and from there there are further options.

The fuel facility (hose reel) criticized in the previous report has since been improved and is now much easier to use. Otherwise, still a great airfield in the Leipzig/ Halle region with good traditional cuisine on site.

Friendly and professional radio and ground staff. The airfield is well maintained with ample parking, tie-down rings, and a large asphalt runway. Parking is available with ground anchors, and hangar space may be available when free. Landing fees for typical GA aircraft are low to moderate; Example: landing and two nights parking about €40 for MTOW 1400 kg, another example: landing about €10 for MTOW 1240 kg. Payment for landing fees and fuel is possible via Aerops. Fuel is available at standard Total rates; the refueling system has been improved and is now easier to use.

The on-field Schnitzel-Tower restaurant is popular and serves a wide selection of schnitzel dishes; advance reservation by phone is strongly recommended due to high demand. Facilities include a café, restrooms, and occasional on-field accommodation. Car hire is available directly at the airfield at competitive daily rates, enabling quick access to Halle or Leipzig; travel times by car are approximately 10–20 minutes to these cities. Public transport access is moderate: about 4 km to Niemberg station (then 10 minutes by train to Halle), or 13 km by taxi; no Uber service reported, but cycling or scooter options are feasible.

The airfield is easy to find visually, with clear approaches and no significant physical obstacles. The proximity of Leipzig TMA requires attention during arrival and departure, especially when approaching from the south or crossing the CTR; see AIP/NOTAM for procedures. The circuit can be busy at times, including glider activity in the north. Ground support is helpful with organizing transport, accommodation, and providing local information.

Overall, EDAQ offers a welcoming environment with good infrastructure for general aviation pilots seeking access to Halle or Leipzig, quality on-field dining, and practical ground services.
