CAUTION: AVGAS at the self-service fuel station at 3,70 EUR/l!!! Unfortunately, the price, which is excessive even by nationwide comparison, overshadows the positive aspects: straightforward approach, long runway, relative proximity to Frankfurt, great dining.

IFR with a PA39 direct from D to Jersey. You need a UK ETA and send the Aeroclub a GenDec for PPR (everything is here https://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/visiting-pilots/ or on the excellent site https://www.fliegen-in-uk.de/). IFR approach was easy; ATC was British, courteous and professional - we had delay vectors due to traffic. Parking on grass by the Aeroclub - straightforward, but as others have noted, take care when taxiing. There are a few holes here and there. Aeroclub staff were super friendly with very few formalities. We had a Sixt rental car at the terminal (AOPA discount) - perfect for discovering the island's many facets. Especially recommended in our opinion is the north coast, e.g., Piemont Beach. New and quite startling for us landlocked folks: sea fog! From CAVOK to Low IFR in 2 minutes in June - take care. Self-serve AVGAS for an incredible GBP 1.51 (with AOPA discount)! Landing (1690 kg, 2 crew) GBP 24.88; handling by the Aeroclub GBP 30 (incl. 3.5 days parking). We had a great time and will gladly come back!
