LEVD (Valladolid) is suitable for both IFR and VFR operations, with no handling required for non-commercial general aviation. The airport has a long 3,000 m runway and modern facilities, and is generally described as uncomplicated and efficient for GA use. Filing an ATC flight plan is required; before departure, include full name and passport number in the RMK section of item 18, pay fees at the operations office on the first floor of the terminal (credit card accepted), and carry the stamped FPL through security for verification by police. Operations staff speak good English.
Landing and parking fees are moderate for Spain. Example: landing and one night parking about €30. Fuel (Avgas and Jet A1) is available on request but is relatively expensive; VAT number is not required if declared as private flight. No hangar space for guests, but tie-down points are present on the apron.
The terminal building is modern with a functional cafeteria/bistro. Car hire is available from OK Cars on site. Taxis to Valladolid city cost about €30, with buses also available at intervals of 1–2 hours; city center can be reached in about 20–25 minutes by taxi. Accommodation options exist within walking distance (about 10 minutes to some motels/hotels).
Touch-and-goes are not permitted. Security procedures require presenting a stamped flight plan to access airside areas. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM for details.
Customs/police checks are present, especially for flights from outside Schengen; passport data must match filed FPL details. Valladolid offers an interesting city visit with historic sites nearby.
