Aarhus Airport is suitable for general aviation, with both VFR and IFR operations supported. No handling is required for typical GA aircraft. ILS and GPSS approaches are available, with minima down to about 200 feet. The airport is quiet and procedures are straightforward; staff are helpful and efficient. There is a pilot’s area for relaxation, and access to the public terminal is allowed for lunch.
Landing fees are generally low to moderate. Example: landing and overnight parking about €20. Another example: landing fee about €15. Fees for larger twins (around 2.3t) have been reported at DKK 234–243. Car rental agencies operate on site, but advance booking by phone is recommended; keys can be arranged even outside normal hours.
Transport to Aarhus city (45 km away) is available by airport bus 925X, which aligns with airline schedules and costs DKK 115 per trip; journey time is 45 minutes. Taxis cost around €60 for a standard car or up to €140 for premium service, so advance booking is advised due to the airport’s remote location.
Self-service refuelling (Shell) accepts major credit cards and Shell carnet; Avgas and Jet A1 are available, though Avgas prices are high due to Danish taxes. The terminal has been recently refurbished and offers comfortable facilities. Minimal security procedures apply on departure.
There is little or no accommodation at or near the airport itself; most visitors stay in Aarhus or nearby towns such as Ebeltoft. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
