What other pilots say about EDMB

Very friendly place with modest fees. The first 200m of 22 is privately owned and actually only usable by permission, hence the somewhat strange note in the VFR approach plate. However, in practice the whole very good runway can be used. Check their web page for current fuel prices.

Nice airfield with very inexpensive fuel (Avgas end of June 2.52). Parking only on grass. Maintenance facility on site. The café has a self-service mode with an honesty box outside peak times. Landing and refueling payable via AeroPS, very good.

EDMB is situated in a scenic area and is straightforward to approach, with a long, well-maintained runway. The airfield presents no notable operational challenges and supports both VFR and IFR traffic. Runway 04 has a slight upslope; after takeoff on 04, a 10-degree right turn is required to avoid noise over the adjacent community. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM. Opening hours are generally from 13:00 (Mon–Thu), 14:00 (Fri), and 09:00 (Sat–Sun) until 20:00 local time; check for updates.

AVGAS is available at notably low prices, with Jet-A1 and unleaded Mogas/Super Plus also offered. Payment by debit card is possible. Maintenance support is available on site, and hangar space exists in a modern round hangar. Parking is available on the apron, though winter conditions can limit space due to snow.

A restaurant with field views operates daily according to the homepage, offering local cuisine and previously Italian fare; quality has varied over time but is generally well regarded. Free loaner bicycles are available for trips into Biberach’s historic town center, which can also be reached by taxi for about €15 one way. The town is noted for its market day on Wednesdays and attractive old town.

Landing fees are low; Example: landing about €20. Overnight parking has been reported at €5. Camping with tents and shower facilities is possible.

The airfield staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, often assisting with transport arrangements or technical issues. The circuit entry is uncomplicated from both directions, but the threshold of runway 22 begins approximately 300 meters after the start of the paved surface, which can be visually misleading—land beyond the marked threshold as indicated in official charts.

EDMB offers a welcoming environment with good infrastructure for general aviation pilots seeking an accessible stopover or destination in southern Germany.
