Pilot Comments for LYBE
Achim
Very busy international airport with excellent efficiency. Virtually always CAT I with flat terrain and apart from the monopolist fuel supplier, very quick turnaround. The handling company I use is handling@i-jets.com who used to be Air Pink and before that the airport company. Total fees for a 3.4t aircraft and technical landing around 70 €.

Belgrade Nikola Tesla (LYBE) is a busy international airport that accommodates general aviation, including VFR and IFR flights. Prior email coordination is generally required for arrivals and parking, with contacts such as flight.coordinator@beg.aero and handling@airpink.com. Parking can be limited, especially during special events or periods of high traffic, and overnight stays may be restricted to technical stops unless arranged in advance. Extended parking is sometimes declined or incurs higher fees.
Fees for landing, handling, and one night of parking typically range from about €30 to €60, with some reports of daily parking up to €160 in specific cases. Example: landing, handling, and one night about €60. Handling agents are generally friendly and efficient, but fee transparency can vary. Payment is usually by credit card at the aircraft.
Avgas 100LL is available but wait times for fuel can be significant—ranging from 20 minutes to several hours—especially during peak airline operations (notably around 06:00, 12:00, 17:00, 23:00 local). Fuel prices are considered low compared to Western Europe. Technical stops for fuel are common and facilitated.
The airport has a General Aviation Terminal (GAT) with basic amenities such as WiFi and toilets; opening hours are typically 07:00–21:00 local. Customs and passport control are efficient for technical stops; crew-only declarations help avoid high passenger fees. Taxis to the city cost around 1,500 dinar.
Operationally, expect integration into heavy airline traffic with STARs even for small aircraft, expedited taxi instructions, and possible delays at startup or taxi—especially for VFR departures during busy periods. Startup clearance is required; VFR flight plans must include reporting points as per AIP/NOTAM. ATC is professional but may prioritize airliners during rush hours.
Facilities include Avgas and Jet A1 fueling (credit card or prepayment), tie-downs on the apron (sometimes limited), and occasional access to power for aircraft on request. On-field accommodation options exist nearby; city hotels are accessible by taxi.
Noise abatement or circuit restrictions are not specifically reported beyond standard procedures. For customs/immigration or operational questions, use official contacts as above. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
Overall, LYBE offers professional service at moderate cost for GA pilots but requires advance coordination and patience with fuel logistics and possible ground delays due to airline traffic.
