Bad Ragaz Airport (LSZE)

LSZE requires PPR, which must be obtained by phone; a message can be left on the published number, and responses may vary. Parking is on grass west of the containers or near the AN-2, but not on paved surfaces or in front of the hangar. After landing, pilots complete paperwork for statistics and payment using a self-service process with envelopes or a card terminal (EC/CC accepted). Lande- and parking fees are moderate; Example: landing and parking about CHF 40. For landings between 1t and 2t, about CHF 30–40 applies.

Runway 30 is preferred except during strong southerly winds (Südföhn), which require local experience due to challenging wind conditions. The circuit is straightforward when the airfield is attended; radio communication is in German. No landing T is present, but two windsocks are available. On final for runway 30, a crane must be avoided; high-voltage lines are present near runway 12 approach and runway 30 departure. Noise abatement requires not shortening the approach over residential areas.

Fuel (100LL) is available on request; UL91 may be possible if the mechanic is present, payable in cash CHF only. Restaurant facilities consist of a kiosk with simple snacks and self-service except Mondays when closed; self-catering is strictly prohibited on site, including filling water bottles from toilets. Toilets are available.

The town and train station are within 15–20 minutes on foot; bus stops at St. Leonhard or Pizolbahn are about 10 minutes away with hourly service.
