Airport Vila Real (LPVR)

Ideal location for exploring the Port wine region, with a Sixt car rental station about 50 meters from the terminal. The runway is newly resurfaced asphalt and very long, situated on a plateau and easy to find. No fees. No Avgas available, but a petrol station is within 100 meters and fuel can be transported by canister if needed. Staff are described as friendly and helpful, assisting with paperwork and arranging taxis. English is spoken, though radio communication may require blind transmissions in English. The airport primarily serves the local aero club and general aviation. Vila Real offers city attractions and views of the Douro Valley nearby.
