Spitzerberg Airport (LOAS)

Very friendly atmosphere with helpful staff. Restaurant, hotel, and pool are available on site; the hotel requires online booking at least two days in advance. Accommodation is generally available, and camping is possible. The restaurant offers a small but quality menu at moderate prices. Facilities include fuel (Mogas and Avgas), hangar space, and a briefing room with internet access. Car hire is available from the hosts.

The grass runway is hard and suitable for heavier aircraft with small wheels, but can be difficult to identify; there is a risk of confusing the runway with the taxiway due to the large airfield layout and sometimes limited markings. The approach is straightforward, but attention is needed for numerous wind turbines in the area and rising terrain at the northeastern edge of the field. There is frequent glider activity, but operations remain relaxed.
