What other pilots say about LKTB
The AI summary is accurate. I have landed at Brno-Turany both planned and unplanned, VFR and IFR: always without issues. The figures cited in the AI summary might suggest very high parking charges; that is not the case. See the price list: https://www.brno-airport.cz/download/pricelist_valid_from_04-07-2024.pdf An email in advance to handling@brno-airport.cz is, in my opinion, optional. A typical <2t SEP will come in under €100. The staff at GA check-in are exceptionally friendly: their saintly patience in driving me back to the aircraft twice to look for (a) the aircraft key and (b) my license was impressive. If a bus is departing soon, there is hardly any time advantage compared to Uber/taxi into the city center. Budget-conscious pilots can land at Medlanky, but on my last visit that required prior coordination; you may need to shoo dog-walkers off the runway and correctly assess the rising terrain. Therefore, the 'proper airport' is much more relaxed.
Brno (LKTB) is a regional airport with both IFR and VFR access, offering mandatory handling for all general aviation, including small aircraft. Handling is described as friendly and efficient, with service generally professional and swift. Both Jet A1 and 100LL fuel are available, with refueling typically quick via fuel truck. The airport operates 24 hours and provides modern facilities; free Wi-Fi is available in the terminal but not in crew areas.
Fees are considered high for parking, while handling charges are relatively low. Parking is billed by the hour or by duration of stay, and total fees for landing, handling, and short-term parking typically range from about €50 to €80 for brief stops. Example: landing, handling, and parking about €80. For longer stays (e.g., two nights or a weekend), total fees can reach around €200–€250. All prices are subject to VAT unless otherwise stated.
Transport to Brno city center is straightforward: taxis cost about €15–€20, with UBER and BOLT available; the city bus runs every 30 minutes with a journey time of about 18 minutes. Hotels in the city center are easily accessible by public transport or taxi.
Security procedures can be thorough but are generally efficient. Circuit entry and approach procedures are standard; IFR approaches (ILS/RNAV) are available without notable restrictions. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM.

Brno airport is suitable for non-commercial general aviation flights seeking reliable service and easy access to the city, though expect higher parking costs compared to smaller airfields.
