Parking must be reserved (by phone or email) because at night several freighters are on quick turnarounds and need the space. When possible you get the green light immediately. The whole team is very friendly. Cones all around, chocks, and a taxi to the terminal—and all that for €30 handling (greetings to EDFL for the €60 cone game there). In addition, just under €10 were charged for landing and one night of parking. They will call a taxi; to Brescia it’s about €35–40. Brescia is a nice Italian city. The field is a real alternative to the grass strips in the area—and with IFR approaches…

We flew to LIPO on a weekday for one night. We had originally planned for LIPX, but despite multiple requests we couldn’t get PPR for overnight parking.

No PPR required at LIPO. Total charge for 5 pax, one overnight with a P46T: €97 net, all-in including handling.

Caution: if a large aircraft is being fueled, fueling can take a while. Handling then arranged fueling for the day of departure perfectly. Parking on the apron was not possible; after dropping off the passengers we had to reposition to a remote parking stand.

Excellent airport for the southern Gardasee region!

Nice airport mostly used nowadays for cargo. They ask for PPR 24h, but unclear if it is really needed. Handling very kind and efficient, and relatively cheap

LIPO (Brescia-Montichiari) is a large, quiet airport with minimal scheduled traffic, mainly serving cargo at night. IFR approaches are available and VFR is straightforward; PPR is not strictly required but recommended, especially for parking or customs. Prior coordination with handling is necessary, typically by phone or email; prompt responses and friendly, professional service are the norm. Parking reservations are advised due to overnight cargo operations, and parking may be on remote stands even when the apron appears empty.

Handling is mandatory and efficient, with staff speaking multiple languages. Fees for landing, handling, and short-term parking generally range from about €50 to €100 for typical GA stays; single examples include landing plus 6 hours parking about €20, handling about €30, or all-inclusive for three days about €60. Example: landing, handling, and one night parking about €40. Longer stays or larger aircraft can incur higher charges up to €150. Payment by credit card is standard.

AVGAS is not available on the main apron; limited supplies may be arranged in advance through Aeroclub Brescia (Tel +39 030 964355 or segreteria@aeroclubbrescia.it), but availability is unreliable and the club may not always respond. Jet A1 is available but fueling can be delayed if cargo aircraft are being serviced.

No rental cars are available on site; taxis to Brescia cost around €40–50 each way, and to Lake Garda towns about €35–40. Uber operates in the area. The terminal has basic facilities including a snack bar and waiting area; a small bistro run by the Aeroclub is located 100 meters outside the terminal.

Customs/immigration can be arranged with prior notice (typically via operativo@aeroportobrescia.it); for arrivals from Switzerland or outside Schengen, mention customs in your PPR request. A Zika virus disinfection certificate may be requested for certain arrivals.

Operational notes: Only taxiways at runway ends are open; expect long taxi distances or backtrack after landing. A marshaller must signal engine start before departure. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for details.

LIPO offers a convenient alternative to busier airports in the Lake Garda region for non-commercial GA flights seeking IFR access and efficient ground handling.
