LICR offers Avgas, which is rare in southern Italy, and fuel is generally available with credit card payment accepted. Handling is typically mandatory and provided by Avia Partner, who also coordinate fuel and landing fee payments; PPR is required and can be arranged by email or phone, sometimes with short notice. Procedures involve some bureaucracy, often requiring payment at multiple offices, and PPR must be reapplied for if arrival details change. IFR capacity is limited due to lack of radar. The apron is fully controlled by ATC, so taxi clearance must always be requested, even for short distances to the fuel area.
Fees for landing, handling, and parking are on the higher side for the region. Example: landing, three days parking, and handling about €160; handling alone about €60; a single landing fee about €10; a fuel surcharge of about €60 may apply for small Jet A1 uplifts. Waiting times for fuel can occur if other aircraft are being serviced or if only one attendant is available. The terminal has a café for snacks and coffee.
Approaches from the north may require holding below 3000 feet until contact with Reggio Approach is established; runway 33 is commonly in use. The apron is described as quiet but functional. For customs or immigration stops, police presence may be minimal or not required depending on flight origin.
LICR is suitable as a technical stop for refueling and offers friendly service despite some inefficiency and administrative steps. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
