Civil Airfield Comiso (LICB) IFR

Comiso (LICB) is a quiet airport in southern Sicily with low traffic and efficient, friendly handling. IFR and VFR operations are supported, with ILS available; approach control is managed by Catania, and full procedure approaches may be required due to limited radar coverage below 5000 ft. Prior request for parking is necessary, typically via apron.comiso@aeroporto.catania.it or handling.comiso@aeroporto.catania.it; traffic@aeroportodicomiso.eu also responds promptly to inquiries and provides required forms.

Fees are generally low for Italy. Example: total charges for 3 nights about €230; another example: 9 days about €110; another example: 4 days parking and 1 landing about €110. Handling is about €20, with passenger fees added separately; parking can be around €3 per day.

Jet A1 is available from WFS or Nautilusfuel, payable by credit card. There is no Avgas100LL available. Rental cars are easily arranged on site through major providers such as Hertz and Skarent, with quick and straightforward service. Public transport options to destinations like Ragusa, Modica, and Scicli are limited; car hire is recommended.

Service includes shuttle transfers between aircraft and terminal, expedited passage through immigration when needed, and tie-downs for aircraft. The apron is typically quiet, with minimal airline traffic outside peak times.
