Mende Brenoux Airport (LFNB)

LFNB sits on a high plateau at 3300–3362 feet, with a long runway and IFR approach (LOC-DME). IFR approaches require AFIS to be staffed; AFIS is typically not present during lunch, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. When AFIS is absent, close flight plans by phone with Montpellier Approach at 0467131125. No night operations.

Fuel (Avgas) is available with a Total or AIRCRAFT Carnet card at any time; otherwise, refueling is possible only during AFIS hours. Example: landing fee about €5 when AFIS is present; no parking fees. The on-field restaurant offers Wi-Fi and is open daily in July–August, otherwise closed Sunday evenings and Mondays. A small hotel/studio accommodation is available on site. Mende town lies 3 km downhill; walking down is possible, but return requires a taxi or similar transport. Hotels in town range from basic to mid-range.

Expect strong rotor and wind shear near the plateau edges, especially on final for RWY31. The airfield's altitude can affect performance. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
