LFBT Tarbes Lourdes Pyrenees is a large, quiet international airport with a 3000m runway, RNP and ILS approaches, and a dedicated GA terminal on the north side. PPR is required for access, but handling is not mandatory for general aviation. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, with efficient ground services. Ramp checks by Gendarmerie occur but are polite and straightforward. Fuel (Avgas/100LL) is available via bowser or fixed installation, payable by standard credit card; self-service is possible with a WFS contract card.
Landing and parking fees are generally low for GA. Example: landing and overnight parking about €20; another example: landing fee about €20. Invoices may be sent after the visit rather than paid on the spot. No extra charge for instrument or radar approaches.
The GA terminal is modern and comfortable, with taxis available outside the main terminal; travel to Tarbes or Lourdes takes around 10–20 minutes and costs about €35–45 by taxi. A good restaurant (Restaurant Côté-Py) operates at lunchtime in the terminal, with snacks at the main bar; free coffee is sometimes available.
Customs/immigration are present during normal airport hours without prior notice required. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM. The airport is accessible to non-commercial general aviation and offers a convenient base for visiting Lourdes or the Pyrenees region.
