Pilot Comments for LFBE
Norm
A wonderful and quiet airfield, particularly in March 2026 when I visited. I imagine it's much busier in the summer season.
As per the AIP, emailed egcops@bergerac.aeroport.fr to request parking. Very quick response, including an easy to follow map to my allocated stand.
If you plan on spending the night, unless you have transport, renting a car is pretty much required. Luckily there are lots of options at LFBE. But again, if arriving out of season (March), you must book ahead of time - all car hire booths are empty!
All airport staff were very friendly and helpful.
Airport fees for a DA40 (MTOM 1,310kg):
- Landing: €5.00
- Parking: €0.44 per hour
- Some other admin fee: €10.00
Worth the visit, I'd definitely return.

Bergerac (LFBE) is a welcoming airport for general aviation with both VFR and IFR procedures, including STAR and ILS approaches. PPR is required for parking, easily arranged via email to egcops@bergerac.aeroport.fr, and parking spots are allocated in advance, sometimes strictly enforced. Customs is available with PNR; officials are generally present during operating hours due to scheduled international flights. Avoid arrivals or departures coinciding with Ryanair flights, as this can cause delays at security, customs, and car hire desks.
Self-service Avgas 100LL is available by pump or Total card; credit cards are accepted, and a refueller can be requested if needed. Fuel stops are usually quick except when scheduled carriers are present, which may cause short delays. Fees are paid in the C office landside behind the terminal; bring your pilot license for access codes or security checks. Example: landing fee about €10.
Facilities include a restaurant/bistro, maintenance workshop, and several car rental agencies on site. Bergerac city center is 5 km away; taxi fares range from about €20 to €30 depending on time and demand. Access between apron and landside is via coded gates or through the aeroclub gate; return access may require a code or ringing for entry.
ATC is professional and English-speaking. For departures, avoid overflying Bergerac city and report zone exit as instructed. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for operational details. The airport offers an attractive destination with good facilities for non-commercial GA flights.
