Göteborg/Säve Airport (ESGP)

ESGP requires PPR via https://www.ppresgp.se, which is generally a formality to collect contact details for invoicing. The airfield is VFR only, with ATC present during the day. During July, the airport is closed except by special arrangement, which incurs a charge of SEK 2000 per hour plus VAT, minimum three hours; the local aeroclub confirms no exceptions. Permanent closure at the end of the year is planned, though police and medevac flights may continue.

Landing fees are typically invoiced by email after your visit. Example: landing fee about 300 SEK; parking about 200 SEK per day; combined landing and three nights parking about 910 SEK. Payment on site is not generally possible. Prices are published on the airport website.

Avgas and Jet A1 are available via self-service pumps; payment by credit card or Maestro with PIN works. Parking is available on asphalt (limited) or grass (bring tie-downs/anchors for grass). Hangar space may be arranged in advance by phone. Access codes for gates are provided in the PPR response.

A restaurant is located opposite the terminal exit. The Aeroseum aviation museum is nearby but not easily reached on foot due to runway layout.

Transport options include taxis to Gothenburg (250–500 SEK, 25–30 minutes), and an hourly bus service to the city center (bus stop up to 600 meters from terminal). On-site car hire is available via Hertz.

The airport can feel deserted outside scheduled movements, with minimal staff presence at times. Procedures are straightforward, with clear ATC instructions and uncomplicated VFR arrivals via published reporting points. See AIP/NOTAM for procedural updates and possible restrictions.
