IFR and VFR operations are well supported, with professional ATC coordination from Farris Approach and Torp Tower. Both approaches and departures are described as smooth, though isolated confusion with visual approach clearances has occurred. The airport is not part of the Avinor network and follows its own fee structure. Landings are invoiced after the visit, with examples indicating landing fees about €40 and short-term parking free or included, but parking beyond two hours incurs high charges, around €100 per night. Example: parking about €100 per night.
Avgas is available at a self-service station on the GA apron; payment requires a Shell or BP fuel card, as credit cards are not accepted at the pump. Local flight schools may assist with fueling or weather information. The GA apron is accessed via the fire station; to exit or enter airside, present yourself there or call +4733427032 if needed. Facilities for GA may be limited when the GAT is closed, but basic needs such as restroom access and coffee can be arranged through airport staff like the fire brigade.
Ground transport options include a nearby train station accessible by shuttle bus from the passenger terminal, with connections to Sandefjord, Kristiansand, Tonsberg, Drammen, and Oslo. Taxis to Sandefjord cost about €30. No tie-downs are available on the apron.
Customs and police checks occur on arrival from abroad; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM. The airport is suitable for short technical stops or customs/fuel entry into Norway but less practical for longer stays due to high parking costs.
