Mandatory handling by Samson Aviation. Handling, landing, navigation, and one night’s parking total about £180. Example: handling, landing, navigation, and one night’s parking about £180. Samson provides good service, with free transfers to nearby hotels such as the Double Tree by Hilton and to the metro station on request. Facilities include a GA lounge and adjacent apron. Fuel (Avgas and Jet A1) is available. Taxis can be arranged for local transport; the Blackbird pub is a short ride away. The metro station is a 5–10 minute walk from Samson’s hangar, with about 10 minutes to Newcastle city centre by metro. ATC is described as efficient and helpful; IFR departures receive radar vectors rather than SIDs. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
