Trouble-free IFR approach with vectors to the ILS, short landing ‘if possible’ and direct vacate via Charlie. Follow Me from Solid Handling is dispatched automatically; we were parked opposite Charlie. Handling takes care of everything professionally and courteously; you can also settle the bill in the lounge over a coffee.
Cost for picking up a passenger during the day around EUR 37 (up to 1500 kg MTOW) – quite reasonable given the perfect service.

EDLV offers straightforward VFR and IFR operations with friendly, accommodating ATC. The airport is well-suited for training flights, with a landing fee for VFR up to 1500 kg at €5, and a 50% discount available for training or proficiency flights if declared to OPS. No approach fee applies for VFR up to 2 t. Handling is only required when parking at the GAT; touch-and-go, full stop with taxi back, or brief crew changes on unused taxiways do not incur handling fees if coordinated with the tower. When applicable, handling fees start around €15–€30, with service provided by Solid Handling. Security fees of €10 per passenger apply if leaving the secure area.
Payment is possible by card, though credit cards incur a 4% surcharge and some debit cards may not be accepted. The GAT is located in a former RAF hangar; facilities include a pilot lounge with free coffee and snacks connected to the main terminal. Parking is available in front of old military hangars. Car hire is available directly at the airport.
For arrivals in the evening, coordinate by email with the handling agent to ensure access if handlers are not present; access to the terminal is not permitted without them after their working hours. The airport’s large runway accommodates both GA and commercial traffic, but procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for operational details.
EDLV provides efficient service at low cost for non-commercial GA flights, especially for training and short stops.
