Elz Airport (EDFY)

PPR is required and can be obtained by phone or via a web form on www.edfy.de; at weekends, PPR is generally granted without difficulty. The airfield is situated in a clearing on an elevation, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The asphalt runway is narrow at 6 meters, making precise landings more challenging, especially in crosswind conditions; guest parking is usually on grass, which can be soft, and asphalt parking is very limited. The circuit pattern has been adjusted to route further from the field and requires careful navigation between villages. During the midday break, only local pilots may operate; guests are not permitted to land or depart in this period. Landegebühr is low; example: landing fee about €10. Facilities include a briefing room (with wall chart and weather PC) and pilot WLAN. Limburg town is approximately 8 km away. Caution for turbulence on final approach due to nearby woodland edges.
